Why councils reline instead of rebuild
Most leaking commercial pools have a sound structure with a failed surface: cracked tiles, open joints and years of patch repairs. A welded membrane gives the whole pool a new watertight skin without touching the concrete shell.
We inspect first. If there is a structural or pipework problem the membrane won't fix, we'll tell you before you spend anything.

How a reline runs
Every job runs to a site-specific SWMS and an Inspection and Test Plan, so facility managers and head contractors can see exactly what is happening and when.
We plan the sequence so scaffolding can come down as early as possible and the floor is lined last.
Inspect and measure
We assess the shell, surface, fittings and leak history, then give you a fixed quote with a clear scope.
Drain and prepare
The pool is drained, loose surfaces are repaired and the floor is prepared so the membrane sits flat.
Line the gutters
Fixing profiles go in and the gutters and edges are lined first.
Line the walls and targets
Walls and wall targets are lined and welded, then the scaffolding comes out.
Line the floor
The floor goes in last, including lane markings, with every seam heat-welded on site.
Check, fill and hand over
Welds and details are checked against the test plan, the pool is filled, and you get the handover documents.

My father started this business and spent more than 40 years in the Australian pool industry, beginning with vinyl-lined pools and moving into commercial membrane lining.
I started working alongside him about 20 years ago and learned the trade on site, pool by pool. We became partners in 2018. Since his retirement I run Aquatic Linings, and I still manage every project personally, from the first inspection to handover.
That means the person who quotes your job is the person on site making sure it is done properly.

Common questions
Can a membrane go over our existing tiles?
Yes. We regularly line over existing tiled pools, including council pools at Narromine, Coonabarabran, Baradine and Mansfield. Loose or damaged areas are prepared first, but the tiles don't need to come out.
Will relining stop our pool leaking?
A welded membrane forms a new watertight layer inside the shell, so water no longer reaches the cracks and joints that were leaking. If our inspection finds a structural or pipework problem as well, we'll tell you up front.
How long will the pool be closed?
It depends on the size of the pool and the preparation it needs. You'll get a program with your quote, and we plan around your season, term dates or events wherever we can.
Do you work outside NSW?
Yes. We work Australia-wide, with most projects in NSW, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia and the ACT, including remote and regional sites.
Can you work as a subcontractor?
Yes. We regularly deliver the membrane package for head contractors and facility managers, with our own SWMS, ITP, risk register and program.
